The Pandemic Sciences Institute (PSI) have an exciting opportunity to recruit
a highly motivated Programme Officer to provide maternity cover to support the
Africa Pandemic Sciences Collaborative, a high-profile initiative delivered in
partnership with Science for Africa (SFA) Foundation and Mastercard
Foundation. This position is based at the Old Road Campus in Headington,
Oxford.





You will work closely with the Senior Programme Manager and multiple
stakeholders at PSI and SFA Foundation to support the smooth and effective
operational and financial management of the Africa Pandemic Sciences
Collaborative. Responsibilities will include the management of document-
sharing platforms, servicing senior committee meetings, event coordination,
and day-to-day administration. You will also serve as the co-lead for at least
one programmatic workstream, and will support the Senior Programme Manager in
tracking milestones and deliverables across other workstreams. The role would
suit a proactive and adaptable individual with an interest in global health
and/or programme management, and with well-developed interpersonal, critical
thinking, and administration skills.





As the Programme Officer it is essential that you are educated to degree level
in a relevant field. You will have experience in administration or project
management, ideally, within a large organisation, and a systematic, thorough
and well-organised approach to work with the ability to meet deadlines and
prioritise tasks. You should have experience in supporting stakeholders, using
tact, sensitivity and discretion to build effective relationships at all
levels and anticipate the needs of different individuals. You should also have
excellent IT skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Excel.

This position is offered full time on a fixed term contract for 12 months and
is funded by Mastercard Foundation. Interviews will take place in late January
2025. It is hoped that the successful candidate will be in role by late March
or early April 2025 to allow for some handover with the substantive
postholder.
