**The Heberden Coin Room**
The Heberden Coin Room is a department of the Ashmolean Museum, in the
University of Oxford. With c. 300,000 coins of all periods and all countries
and collections of medals, tokens, and paper money, it represents one of the
leading international coin cabinets (see:

**About the role**
Reporting to the Project Manager, you and the other digital curator of Roman
coins will work on the digitisation of c. 110,000 Roman Republican and
Imperial coins for three years. You will photograph coins and their tickets,
process images, provide core data and identify the coins in printed and online
standard reference works.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position, working 37.5 hours per week for 3
years. This position could provide the opportunity for remote working for up
to two days per week.
**About You**
You have excellent general IT skills and know how to use coin databases and
image processing software. You can identify Roman Republican and Roman
Imperial coins in the relevant printed or online reference works quickly and
accurately. You know how to record Roman Republican and Roman Imperial coins
in a numismatic database quickly, accurately, consistently and in line with
the relevant standards.
