Communications and Events Lead - State of Carbon Dioxide Removal

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the communications and events for the
ground-breaking State of Carbon Dioxide Removal (SoCDR) initiative as it
enters into a new phase. Based at the University of Oxford, you will be part
of an international collaboration providing reliable, independent and
scientific data for tracking and assessing the development of CDR around the
world.





As a member of the secretariat for the project, you will work alongside the
Programme Manager, Data Lead and Head of Partnerships. You will be a member of
the communications teams in the Smith School of Enterprise and Environment
(SSEE), with dotted line reporting to the Head of Strategic Communications.
You will access support and resources from the central team, and help ensure
that SoCDR communications align with the wider the Smith School strategy for
maximum impact.You will work closely with the communications team in the
School of Geography and Environment (SoGE) and the central University,
additionally co-ordinating, where needed, with the communications teams in the
other collaborating institutions.





The role will operate under the guidance of the Executive Team, constituted of
members from the following institutions: the University of Oxford, Potsdam
Institute for Climate lmpact Research (PlK), German Institute for
International and Security Affairs (SWP), University of Maryland, and the
University of Wisconsin-Madison.





Using your skills with websites and media (social and traditional), you will
help raise the profile of the SoCDR outputs, map out strategic audiences,
disseminate knowledge, and facilitate outreach events. You will also interact
with a growing and diversifying group of lead authors, editors and graphic
designers to ensure the SoCDR reports continue to act as a trusted resource
for those making decisions about CDR and its role in meeting climate goals.

**The post is fixed-term for 28 months, with the possibility of extension.**
