**About the role**



This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven individual to
join the Emerging Pathogens team as our Senior Programme Manager under the
direction of Professor Teresa Lambe. The postholder will also be part of the
Oxford Vaccine Group which is a multi-disciplinary team working across all
aspects of vaccine research – this group led the rapid clinical development of
vaccines against COVID-19 in the pandemic.





The Emerging Pathogens team have been developing and testing vaccines against
viral hemorrhagic fevers and are progressing a number of vaccines against
Ebolaviruses, which cause devasting disease. Our candidate vaccines have been
shortlisted by the WHO to be included in a ring vaccination protocols during
outbreaks in Uganda and elsewhere. The Emerging Pathogens team continues to
work on these vaccines with a global network of collaborators, using cutting
edge scientific technology paired with experienced vaccine development to
progress vaccines to safeguard human health.





This position is offered full-time on a fixed-term contract initially until 1
February 2027, with the possibility to extend provided further external
funding is available.





This role meets the criteria for a UK Skilled Worker visa.





**About the department**



The Department of Paediatrics holds the Athena Swan Gold award (a national
gender equality charter) acknowledging the innovative policies and practices
developed across the department. We encourage staff to develop their skills by

**About you**



We are looking to recruit a Senior Programme Manager to help deliver and
oversee this exciting programme of work. You will be educated to undergraduate
level at a minimum with a scientific degree and have an excellent track record
of successfully managing and delivering complex scientific research projects.
The successful candidate will line manage staff as appropriate and provide
training to junior team members and staff where needed.
