<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><div><strong>INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY</strong></div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><strong>Full time, with part time working as a minimum of 0.7 FTE considered.</strong></div><br> <div><strong>This role also offers the opportunity for hybrid working</strong></div><br> <div><strong>Fixed term, 2 years in the first instance</strong></div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><strong>About the Role:</strong>&#160;Join our team in Headington, Oxford as the Deputy Head of Medical Sciences HR and play a crucial role in supporting a wide range of HR services across the Medical Sciences Division.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><strong>Key Responsibilities Include:</strong></div><br> <ul><br> <li>Working closely with HR teams across 18 Medical Sciences departments, utilising your excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.</li><br> <li>Managing functional HR leads, ensuring that systems and processes are efficient and effective while supporting the wider MSD HR Network to create a supported and knowledgeable HR community</li><br> <li>Building strong and successful working relationships with our NHS partners to ensure effective HR across different organisations.</li><br> <li>Supporting the Divisional Registrar, Head of Division, Heads of Department and Deputy Heads of Division in achieving Divisional and University HR strategic aims.</li><br> <li>Maintaining and developing key relationships with a wide range of stakeholders whilst managing competing priorities in a complex devolved structure.</li><br> </ul><br> <div><strong>Skills and Qualifications:</strong></div><br> <ul><br> <li><strong>Analytical Thinking and Problem-Solving:</strong>&#160;Demonstrate analytical thinking, innovation, and problem-solving abilities equivalent to those derived from holding a good honours degree and/or chartered membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, and/or extensive professional experience.</li><br> <li><strong>Communication:</strong>&#160;Exhibit the ability to communicate concisely, effectively, and persuasively in writing and orally.</li><br> <li><strong>Organisational Excellence:</strong>&#160;Possess excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise, and the capability to progress a high volume of complex issues to successful resolution.</li><br> <li><strong>Team Collaboration:</strong>&#160;Show a demonstrated ability to be a cooperative and effective team member, developing constructive working relationships at all levels.&#160; Ability to act as a good role model.</li><br> <li><strong>Leadership and Confidence:</strong>&#160;Command the confidence of University colleagues at all levels, with proven experience in effective staff management and leadership.</li><br> <li><strong>HR Policy and Practice:</strong>&#160;Make substantial contributions to the development and delivery of HR policy and practice across a complex and devolved organisation.</li><br> <li><strong>Judgement and Awareness:</strong>&#160;Exhibit keen awareness and excellent judgement about the wider implications of HR matters in academic environments, including academic departments, service units, and NHS Trusts.</li><br> <li><strong>IT Proficiency:</strong>&#160;Demonstrate the ability to make effective and efficient use of relevant IT software and systems.</li><br> <li><strong>Higher Education or NHS Experience:</strong>&#160;Significant experience in senior level HR management roles within a Higher Education or NHS setting.</li><br> <li><strong>Training:</strong>&#160;Experience in delivering training events and briefings for managers, with or without a formal qualification.</li><br> </ul><br> <div><strong>Why Join Us?</strong>&#160;This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant contribution to the HR services across the Medical Sciences Division.
