The Department of Physics is seeking to appoint a Sub Department
Administration Officer to work within the Sub-Department of Atmospheric,
Oceanic & Planetary Physics (AOPP).





The postholder will interact with members of AOPP Physics, the wider Physics
Department and the Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division. The
purpose of this role is to provide an efficient and smooth-running
administration service to Atmospheric, Oceanic & Planetary Physics and close
support to the Head of the Sub-Department. This is a broad-ranging role that
requires the post-holder to deal with academics, research staff, students,
senior leaders from other departments or institutions and junior visitors.





We are looking for an experienced administrator/PA with solid administration
and excellent oral and written communication skills. The ability to multitask
and having a ‘can do’ attitude are vital for this role. You should be prepared
to undertake whatever tasks arise. Experience of Microsoft Office software is
essential as is a willingness to embrace developing modern technology.





This is a full-time post on fixed term basis for 2 years (secondment
possible).
