<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><div>The University of Oxford is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor in History with a focus on the period 1000-1500. The post will be held in the Department for Continuing Education and the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the teaching and research within the Department&#8217;s history portfolio. They will also contribute to the governance and strategic direction of the Department. The postholder will have a Governing Body Fellowship at Kellogg College and full membership of the Faculty of History.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><strong>Key responsibilities:</strong></div><br> <ul><br> <li><strong>Teaching</strong> You will teach on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including the Postgraduate Certificate in Historical Studies, the MSt in Historical Studies, the MSt in Literature and Arts and the MSc in English Local History. You will also supervise dissertations at postgraduate level and DPhil students.</li><br> <li><strong>Academic Administration</strong> You will serve as course director (or co-course director) for the Postgraduate Certificate in Historical Studies and contribute to the teaching and administration of the MSt in Historical Studies. You will also serve as one of the two course directors of the MSt in Literature and Arts in rotation with other members of academic staff. You will contribute to the strategic direction and governance of the Department.</li><br> <li><strong>Research</strong> You will conduct research in the field of history 1000-1500, supported by external research grants where appropriate. You will disseminate research findings through publications and public engagement activities and contribute to the research culture of the University&#8217;s Faculty of History.</li><br> </ul><br> <div><strong>Requirements:</strong></div><br> <div>The successful candidate must hold a doctorate relevant to history 1000-1500 and have an established research record relating to history between 1000-1500. You should have substantial experience of teaching at university level and a proven record of research and publication.
