**About the role **
The Department of Sociology is seeking to appoint a full-time, fixed-term
Departmental Lecturer in Sociology from September 2025 for a period of 2
years.
The post holder will primarily lecture and teach students taking the MSc in
Sociology by leading on qualitative methods and the political and civil
conflict option paper and supervising dissertations. The main duties will also
include taking part in assessment and examining and supporting the delivery of
the departmental masters programme.
The successful applicant will have a relevant PhD or DPhil with post-
qualification teaching and research experience, sufficient depth and breadth
of the subject knowledge to develop course units along with an aptitude for
teaching and awareness of pedagogic methods, a strong publication record, and
evidence of the ability to write research proposals.
