**About the role**



These fixed-term posts are to provide replacement teaching while one
postholder is taking up a Divisional post/sabbatical leave and while another
post is temporarily vacant for one year, following the retirement of a
postholder.



You will also be expected to offer lectures and will contribute to the
administration and research environment of the Sub-Faculty of Portuguese. They
will also be responsible during Full Term for tutorials (small group teaching)
in Portuguese language and literature, across a range of colleges, and for
supporting students in academic and pastoral matters.





**About you**



Candidates may have any research specialist in a relevant field of Portuguese
or Lusophone Studies, and should demonstrate the ability and willingness to
teach across a range of undergraduate topics, including either modern
Portuguese literature (for the Wadham-linked post) or early modern Portuguese
literature (for the St Anne’s-linked post). You will also be able to engage
with a variety of critical approaches—including, but not limited to, critical
race theory, decolonial perspectives, feminism(s), and queer studies—used in
the study of Portuguese texts at Oxford.





You will have good organisational and interpersonal skills, be committed to
high-quality teaching and student support, and be prepared to work
collaboratively across colleges. Teaching materials will be provided to
support the preparation of courses, especially in early modern literature.
