Business Development Manager

The Institute for Ethics in AI, a world leading centre addressing the ethical
challenges and opportunities created by rapidly advancing AI technology, is
seeking to appoint a Business Development Manager. Leading the professional
services team this post will take responsibility for the implementation of the
institute strategy to support the delivery of the Institute’s vision. The
Institute has recently entered a period of rapid growth with the development
of two new research programmes and has plans to expand and develop new
business opportunities. This post is fixed-term for five years in the first
instance.





This is a wide-ranging role demanding a capacity for strategic thinking,
extensive financial and team management skills and ability to build successful
collaborations with a variety of stakeholders. The successful candidate will
also require strengths in governance, relationship management, and an ability
to sustain and develop the current portfolio of activities as well as
supporting the development of new partnerships, including but not limited to
Professional and Executive Education programmes and Knowledge Exchange
activities.





In addition to a good honours degree, or equivalent, and evidence of strong
intellectual capability, the successful candidate will have extensive
experience of working at senior management level preferably in higher
education administration; considerable experience of personnel management
involving a diverse workforce; planning and project management skills,
excellent analytical and organisational skills, with a proven ability to build
collaborative partnerships, and handle and prioritise a complex portfolio of
responsibilities and projects in a challenging and fast-moving environment.
Excellent skills in written and oral communication are also required.
