<p></p><div>We are looking to appoint a Postdoctoral Researcher/Trial Manager to manage a Wellcome funded clinical trial “FOCUS: Function and Cognition in Early Psychosis, led by Dr Rob McCutcheon. Recently the drug xanomeline-trospium which acts via non-dopaminergic mechanisms has been shown to reduce psychotic symptoms but its effects on cognition are unclear. The FOCUS trial will investigate the effects of xanomeline-trospium on cognitive function in individuals with first episode psychosis. The post is full-time and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital, Oxford.  </div><br>

<div>The post is for a fixed term (funded for 12 months) with the possibility of extension. </div><br>

<div>You will have trial management responsibility for the post, including leading ethical approval process, funder reporting, supervision and monitoring of recruitment.   Additionally, you will have the opportunity to develop your own research with a focus on cognitive function and treatments for psychosis, including undertaking analyses of neuroimaging measures and cognitive outcomes, the development of clinical services, the conducting of meta-analyses, and the analysis of pre-acquired clinical trial data (depending on your interests and abilities).</div><br>

<div>You will have or be close to the completion of a PhD/DPhil, and have experience managing experimental medicine studies or clinical trials, including recruiting individuals with psychotic disorders to research studies.   With excellent communication skills you will have the ability to use initiative to plan and organise complex activities and programmes and manage your own academic research and associated activities.   Experience with programming in python, matlab and R would be desirable.  </div><br>
