<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><div>The Sub-department of Particle Physics at the University of Oxford is currently seeking a talented and highly qualified postdoctoral research assistant to work on the ATLAS experiment at the LHC on a 3-year fixed-term contract.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The postholder will be joining one of the largest and most prominent groups on the ATLAS experiment. Our effort is broadly focused on searches for new physics, the exploration of the Higgs sector, standard model measurements, and operational support of the ATLAS experiment. We also play a substantial role in the ATLAS Phase 2 Upgrade silicon tracker. The successful candidate will play a leading role in a team studying the decay of a Higgs boson to b- and c-quarks final states and di-Higgs production. He/she will also provide operational support for the ATLAS Semiconductor Tracker to ensure it continues to operate well in conditions far harsher than it was designed for.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The position is full-time. The successful candidate will hold a Doctorate in particle physics. The post will be based in Geneva, Switzerland, or Oxford, according to the candidate's preference. When based in Oxford, teaching duties of up to 3 hours per week during the University term may be required.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Please read the &#8220;Person Specification and Job Description&#8221; before preparing your application.
