Postdoctoral Researcher in Endogenous DNA damage by Aldehydes

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Researcher to lead
a research project focusing on tissue-specific responses to DNA damage caused
by endogenous aldehydes. In particular, the project will focus on how
endogenous aldehydes contribute to age-related decline of various tissues. You
will work directly with Professor KJ Patel and his team, and closely with
other MRC Molecular Haematology Unit groups. You will also be supported by
world-class core Facilities within the Institute, including advanced
microscopy, FACS, transgenics, next-generation sequencing, single-cell
sequencing and genome engineering.
You will hold a PhD (or near to completion: thesis submitted at time of
appointment) in molecular biology or related field relevant to the project.
Experience in cell and molecular biology, as well as knowledge of DNA repair
and genome stability are essential. This position will particularly suit a
candidate with a proven record of working with mouse models of
neurodegeneration and premature ageing, and with strong interest in HSC
biology.
This is a full-time position available for 18 months, funded by Wellcome.
