Subject Librarian – Physical and Applied Sciences

<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><div>The Radcliffe Science Library is the main science library for the University of Oxford open to all members of the University and other members of the Bodleian.&#160;The newly refurbished RSL provides significantly enhanced facilities including more comfortable study spaces, IT facilities, group study rooms, training facilities, and a large lending and reference collection.&#160;&#160;</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>We are looking for an enthusiastic person who will support the research and teaching/learning needs of staff and students of the University Departments of: Earth Sciences; Computing; Materials; and Statistics as well as all associated teaching and research units.&#160;Support can be for one or more of the Departments based on agreement with the applicant.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>You will support the Bodleian MPLS and MSD Libraries in the marketing and communication of library activities, services and resources in collaboration with colleagues.&#160;You will have a relevant qualification or practical experience of library work or other information support.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>You will have experience of effectively publicizing and marketing of library services. Effective communication skills with experience of building collaborative working relationships are required.&#160;You will have experience of successful planning, problem-solving and decision-making. Excellent IT and digital skills and proficiency with relevant subject databases and other pertinent research tools are also essential.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>This is a fixed-term and part-time post (20% FTE) &#8211; hours are flexible and will be agreed with the appointed candidate.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>This is a great opportunity to join a friendly team in the Radcliffe Science Library and work as part of the Bodleian Libraries.
