Facilities and AV Assistant

<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><p>We are seeking to recruit a proactive and enthusiastic Facilities and AV Assistant to join our friendly facilities team at the Botnar Research Centre, Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS), University of Oxford.</p><br> <p>As our Facilities and AV Assistant you will support the work of the Buildings and Facilities Manager to help maintain the Facilities and services required to ensure the effective and smooth running of the buildings and laboratories. You will be responsible for covering all aspects of Facilities support within the Botnar buildings and labs, to include Reception, Goods-in, morning AV equipment checks, and monitoring building and laboratory facilities. You will work closely with Senior Laboratory Technician in the arrangement of servicing and maintenance of laboratory equipment, and be responsible for the cleaning and sterilising of glassware, operation of autoclaves, and disposal of laboratory waste.</p><br> <p>You will be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent and you will be computer literate with good keyboard skills. Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety requirements for example COSHH, good written and verbal communication skills and ability to maintain a flexible approach to duties and provision of facilities and services, including covering for all members of the team and exhibit a positive service orientation to all staff, students and visitors are essential. Experience of using autoclave and glass wash machines and formal Health and Safety training, including manual handling, compressed gases awareness and cryogens awareness are desirable.</p><br> <p>This is a full-time permanent post.</p><br> <p>The closing date for applications is 12 noon on 06/10/2023.
