**About the Role:**
Oxford School of Global and Area Studies is seeking to employ a well-organized
and conscientious part-time Research Compliance Officer to support OSGA’s
research and finance functions.
This role is part of a wider administration team that reports to the Head of
Administration and Finance.
The post-holder will work under the supervision of the Research Development
Office, however, they will need to manage their own time and take initiative
within certain areas. They will provide assistance in the preparation of the
grant applications and administrative support for the research ethics approval
(CUREC), travel risk assessment (TRA), and insurance processes. They will
support the Finance Manager with some aspects of post-award management. Whilst
this is not primarily a finance role, the post-holder may be required to carry
out basic finance duties at busy times and to cover staff absence.
**About You:**
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual educated to A-level standard
or equivalent with proven administrative skills, preferably in higher
education or a similar field, and an ability to interpret and communicate
complex information to others. You will be self-motivated, well-organised, and
able to work efficiently and successfully to tight deadlines, whilst enjoying
working as part of a small team.
A high level of computer literacy, good communication skills, and the ability
to produce high quality, accurate, independent work supporting the finance and
research support functions with little supervision are also essential, while
previous experience of the University’s costing and pricing tool (X5) and
finance system (Oracle) would be advantageous.
