The Finance Officer is a key member of the Finance team within the Faculty
Office, and will handle a wide range of financial administration functions.
In the first year of appointment the distribution of duties is expected to
vary according to requirements. The Faculty expects to undertake a number of
major projects in 2023-24 for which additional finance capacity will be
required, and thereafter the role is expected to revert to the specific set of
duties which can be found in the further particulars for the role.
The successful applicant should have a good level of general education to GCSE
standard or equivalent; relevant experience in financial administration
including use of computerised financial systems; excellent numerical skills
with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail; experience of
interpreting financial policies; an ability to organise their own workload and
work to deadlines; and effective skills in summarising financial data for
reports including use of spreadsheets. Experience of working in the field of
Higher Education, experience of Oracle financial systems and progress towards
a financial qualification, e.g. AAT, is desirable.
The post is permanent and full time. The postholder will be based in the
Faculty of Law, St Cross Building, St Cross Road, Oxford, OX1 3UL.
