Finance Officer

The Department of Computer Science is looking for a proactive and committed
individual to join our finance team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the finance team as a key member,
assisting to coordinate the transactional activity of the Department. The team
consists of 9 people, split into two sections, with one responsible for
project management and the other for financial transactions, this role sits
within the transactional side of the team.
The general finance tasks are split between and rotated across the 3 Finance
Assistants and 1 Finance Officer to adhere to the University’s segregation of
duty requirements. The coordination of the tasks will be the responsibility of
the Finance Officer with support from the Senior Finance Officer.
The post holder will work closely with various teams within the department and
across the University. The successful candidate will have financial
administration experience, excellent IT skills and be able to communicate both
verbally and in writing to a range of non-financial audiences. They should
also have the ability to balance and prioritise their workload, make informed
decisions whilst knowing when to escalate to the Senior Finance Officer and
have experience in coordinating a team.
The post is a full-time permanent contract and would also be considered for
part-time at no less than 0.8 FTE.
