**About the Role:**
As a Facilities Manager at the University of Oxford, you will work alongside
our Senior Facilities Manager to oversee and manage our facilities management
teams and services. Your role will be instrumental in developing the
Facilities service coherently while supporting the activities of our
customers. You will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks, making each
day dynamic and exciting.
**Key Responsibilities:**
• **Building Management:** Assist in the management of designated University
buildings, ensuring they are well-maintained and fully functional.
• **Budget Management:** Contribute to the budgetary management of facilities
and services, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and value for money.
• **Customer Relations:** Establish and maintain strong relationships with
relevant customers and develop Service Level Agreements to maintain high
standards.
• **Staff Management:** Oversee staff within your sections, addressing
staffing issues, recruitment, performance, development, and training.
• **Maintenance and Projects:** Coordinate general maintenance, refurbishment,
and redecoration activities, manage facilities-related projects, and oversee
supplier and service contracts.
• **Safety and Security:** Ensure a safe and compliant working environment for
staff in managed buildings, addressing health and safety issues and
participating in call-round arrangements.

**To Be Successful You'll Need:**
• Minimum HND qualification or equivalent.
• Demonstrable relevant experience within facilities management.
• Experience in buildings management, project and space management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good understanding of facilities management issues and procurement
procedures.
• Ability to work independently, manage teams, and prioritize tasks.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of Health & Safety relevant to the workplace.
• IT literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
