This is an exciting opportunity to join a fantastic team within one of the largest politics and international relations departments in the world recognised internationally for its broad-ranging and influential research.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The position is a fixed-term contract for 6 months and is offered on a full-time basis (part-time hours will be considered at no less than 0.8fte).</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>This would be an ideal secondment opportunity for a candidate within the University.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Reporting to the Research Manager and working closely with the Finance team and Project Administrators, the role will oversee research compliance of the wide range of research activities within the Department as well as line-managing a project administrator. The Research Compliance Lead will promote a culture of compliance, research integrity, and high-quality research, contributing to the provision of an outstanding service to our PIs and research staff. Furthermore, the role will be responsible for managing their own portfolio of grants. The role will work closely with Principal Investigators (PIs) and Finance to ensure funded research projects meet all legal, financial, and ethical obligations and that sponsor terms and conditions are adhered to.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The successful candidate will proactively support the Research Manager and Finance Manager to develop and maintain efficient and effective systems and processes for managing the Department&#8217;s research portfolio, as well as coordinating across administrative teams to ensure joined-up post-award support for research projects.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><strong>About you</strong></div><br> <div>The successful candidate should have experience of complex research grant administration within higher education (or comparable environment), knowledge and understanding of funding requirements, experience of financial administration on research grants, and the ability to interpret complex guidance, regulatory procedures, policy documents to a non-specialist audience.
