Applications for this vacancy closed on 4 March 2024 at 12:00PM
Applications are invited for an experienced Configuration Manager for the
HARMONI instrument project, an international collaboration to design and build
the first light spectrograph for the Extremely Large Telescope (ELT).

The post is available initially for a fixed-term duration 36 months, with the
possibility of extension for a further 3 years subject to funding.

HARMONI is a new astronomical instrument currently being designed and built
for the worlds largest telescope – the 39 m ELT. It will revolutionise
astronomical observations of objects across our Universe, from the most

the U.K., France, Spain, and the U.S.A. Oxford hosts the project’s document
repository, and is responsible for coordinating Configuration Management. This
is a key role in enabling a high-quality instrument and in turn high-quality
science.

Applicants should possess substantial previous experience with, and be skilled
in Configuration Management for a large engineering / scientific research
project. They should have experience of managing Change Control processes.

An appropriate qualification in Configuration Management will be an advantage,
as will experience with Microsoft Sharepoint management and configuration.

The applicant should have excellent communication skills, both written and
verbal. They should work well in a large international team environment.

The role is project focussed, and there is no requirement to participate in
teaching or other academic duties.

Please direct enquiries about the role to Dr. Fraser Clarke.
