Oxford Trauma and Emergency Care Administrator (maternity cover)

We have an exciting opportunity for the Oxford Trauma and Emergency Care
Administrator to join the Oxford Trauma group at the Kadoorie Research Centre,
Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences
(NDORMS), to be based at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
You will provide professional and proactive administrative support to the
academic staff in the team, to ensure that the research and administrative
work within the team is carried out in a timely and efficient manner. You will
also, alongside the other Administrator, manage a high volume of incoming
correspondence, emails and telephone calls, progress matters as appropriate,
in particular identifying priority items of business for immediate attention,
take action where possible and make judgements about who will resolve issues.
You will have shared responsibility for the management of Professor Costa’s
emails, diary and meeting schedules, including all domestic and international
travel. The postholder will ensure that any follow-up action is identified,
logged and taken forward, prompt Professor Costa’s about action needed, and
co-ordinate such action with colleagues within the office.
You will be educated to A Level or equivalent with GCSE in English and Maths,
or have equivalent administrative qualifications/experience. Strong verbal and
written communication skills, including an ability to effectively deal with
telephone and email enquiries and proficiency in spoken/written English, good
organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage own workload
and to work flexibly, according to changing workload and team requirements are
essential. Experience of working in an academic or research environment,
experience of using a procurement system and experience of using reference
software (such as Mendeley, Endnote etc) are desirable.
This is a full time (part-time appointment at minimum of 60% FTE will be
considered) maternity cover appointment for 12 months.
