**About the role**
We have an exciting opportunity for a Conference Organiser who will lead a
major conference programme on infections and vaccines in Children and will be
based in the Department of Paediatrics.
You will play an important role in the education of healthcare professionals
and scientists about infections and their prevention through vaccination, in a
team with a remit to improve the health of children, led by Professor Sir
Andrew Pollard FRS.
You will be responsible for a globally renowned annual course “Infection and
Immunity in Children” which is in its 22nd year and provide effective support
through great communication and organisational skills.
You will be working in a vibrant department within the Medical Sciences
Division. The Department of Paediatrics is a world leader in child health
research and hosts internationally renowned research programmes including the
Oxford Vaccine Group, a team of 200 researchers who strive to generate
knowledge that saves lives through prevention.
This position is offered on a fixed-term contract initially for 3 years with
the possibility to extend provided further external funding is available.
Please be aware, the University has introduced a pensionable Oxford University
Weighting of £1,500 a year (pro rata) for all staff on grades 1–10 of the main
salary and grading structure which will be implemented in the September 2024
payroll and backdated to 1 August 2024. Please follow the link here for

**About you**
You will have a substantial experience in events organisation with excellent
organisational skills and knowledge of budget management, use of IT and
excellent communication skills
