Senior PA to Professor Noble and Research Group Administrator

We are seeking an experienced full-time Senior Personal Assistant to provide
comprehensive PA support to Professor Alison Noble CBE FRS FREng, as well as
Research Group Administration support to both Professor Noble and to 5
academic colleagues in the Biomedical Image Analysis cluster at the Institute
of Biomedical Engineering (IBME), Headington. Professor Noble is also a Vice
President and Foreign Secretary of the Royal Society, and you will provide a
high level of PA support ensuring smooth interactions across both roles. This
includes complex diary management, full travel arrangements and ensuring day-
to-day organisation of Professor Noble’s items of business, working closely
with colleagues within the Department and the Royal Society Executive
Assistant. The post is fixed-term to 30 November 2026.
**About The Role**
Working in an exciting, dynamic research environment, you will assist in the
co-ordination of the academic research, leadership and administrative
responsibilities of the Professor of Biomedical Engineering. You will ensure
the effective day-to-day management of the business and all aspects of meeting
and diary support, working closely with colleagues in the IBME, the
Department, colleges, across the University and externally to ensure co-
ordination on relevant issues. You will also independently make arrangements
for events, including national workshops involving external participants.
**About You**
You should have considerable previous PA experience at a senior level and the
ability to organise and prioritise a varied workload efficiently in order to
meet deadlines, coping with unpredictable volumes of work without supervision.
Excellent skills in office IT systems and Microsoft 365 applications,
including email, word processing, databases are essential, along with an
ability to deal with changing office technologies. You should also have
excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to build effective working
relationships with immediate colleagues and to deal appropriately with a wide
range of contacts including senior academics, clinicians, students and other
university staff.
