We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic communications expert to join the
Research Strategy and Funding team in the Medical Sciences Division. With a
specific focus on global health, including themes ranging from climate impacts
on mental health to infectious diseases such as malaria, this role promises to
be exciting and challenging. The successful applicant will be keen to engage
with the many issues and opportunities that arise and be a pivotal member of
friendly, welcoming and supportive teams.
The role will report to the Global Health Facilitator and be part of the
Research Strategy and Funding Team and the Communications Team. The role
holder will actively raise the profile and visibility of Oxford Global Health
both internally and externally, create new and engaging website content and
digital media posts, write copy for internal communications, assist with
promoting and running events, support the development of thematic networks,
and identify opportunities to progress the team’s objectives.
The successful applicant will have proven communications or marketing
experience, as well as demonstrable experience working simultaneously across
multiple projects, managing varied deadlines, and prioritising workload
effectively. You will be adept at maintaining open, clear communication with
team leads and other relevant stakeholders, and the ability to confidently,
and sometimes independently, advocate for the use of best practice
communication methods. The role holder should have a good knowledge of digital
communications, experience evaluating the impact of communication methods and
working with Microsoft Office suite of applications. Experience working in a
higher education environment is desirable.
If you want to take on this challenge, make a real difference in global health
research and are interested in applying, please contact the Global Health
Facilitator, Jo Miller, by email at: joanna.miller@medsci.ox.ac.uk to arrange
an informal discussion about this opportunity.
This position is full time (although part time at a minimum of 0.8 FTE will be

the details of two referees as part of your online application.
The closing date for applications is **12 noon on Tuesday 26th November
2024**.
