**About the Role**
Our diverse portfolio includes:
* Observational studies
* Clinical trials of investigational medicinal products (CTIMPs)
* Medical device trials
Research areas include a range of respiratory conditions including lung
cancer, pleural disease, long COVID, sarcoidosis, COPD, idiopathic pulmonary
fibrosis, bronchiectasis, chronic cough, and respiratory sleep and breathing
disorders.
As a Senior Research Nurse, you will be required to work collaboratively with
the clinical team and wider multi-disciplinary team in the management of your
own caseload of clinical studies ensuring effective recruitment strategies are
used to screen, recruit and follow up participants.
You will take part in all aspects of respiratory care and trial assessments,
including spirometry, phlebotomy, ECGs, observations and history taking.
You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining Standard Operating
Procedures for the delivery team and participate in audits and service
evaluation.
A key aspect of the role is to act as a resource for the team and provide
professional guidance. By working closely with the Research Nurse Manager, you
will provide day to day management support and implement team objectives to
develop working practices and patient care in the team. The successful
candidate will be a NMC registered nurse with experience of working in a
clinical research environment and knowledge of research guidelines. You will
have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work
under pressure and prioritise effectively. Knowledge of respiratory medicine,
venepuncture and cannulation skills and some experience in Quality Improvement
or Project Management would be desirable.
