<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><div>Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in <strong>The search for radio sources in the Epoch of Reionisation</strong></div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The post is available for a fixed-term duration of&#160; 6 months</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><em>This is a short-term role funded through the UKRI Frontier Research Grant of Prof. Matt Jarvis to exploit the first data release of the MIGHTEE-continuum component of the MIGHTEE survey in the COSMOS, ECDFS and XMMLSS fields. The role will require a high level of technical expertise to determine the luminosity function of massive galaxies at z~6 and relate this to the radio continuum data.</em></div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The successful candidate will:</div><br> <div>&#8226;&#160;&#160;&#160; Analyse ground-based optical and near-infrared data alongside multi-wavelength data in the MIGHTEE fields and write publishable papers based on this.</div><br> <div>&#8226;&#160;&#160;&#160; Publish work on the galaxy luminosity function at z~6</div><br> <div>&#8226;&#160;&#160;&#160; Work closely with other members of Prof. Jarvis&#8217; group to maximise the impact of the MIGHTEE Data Release 1 in relation to the high-redshift galaxies.</div><br> <div>&#8226;&#160;&#160;&#160; Co-organise weekly group meetings on AGN and Star-forming galaxies</div><br> <div>&#8226;&#160;&#160;&#160; The post-holder will be expected to contribute to Departmental life in Oxford Astrophysics. &#160;We provide opportunities to teach in tutorials and laboratories, supervise undergraduate project students and contribute to our active outreach programme.
