**About the role**



We are seeking to appoint an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer jointly
across the Department of Social Policy and Intervention (DSPI) and the Oxford
Internet Institute (OII). Both departments have recently been awarded a Bronze
Award in the Athena Swan Charter, OII in 2022 and DSPI in 2024. The EDI
Officer will be responsible for implementing the Athena Swan action plans for
both departments, liaising with key stakeholders to effect change. The EDI
Officer will support and be active on the Departments’ and Division’s EDI
committees and panels, working closely with the Chairs to identify goals and
actions, and effectively deliver new initiatives.



Both Departments are committed to fostering an environment of equality,
diversity and inclusion. The hours may be worked flexibly to complement caring
responsibilities - please state preferred hours and working pattern in your
application.



You will be based in Oxford as your normal place of work, however there is
opportunity for partial remote working.





**About you**



To succeed in this post, you will need to demonstrate passion and drive for
advancing equality, diversity and inclusion, ideally through previous
experience of working in a similar role, or of significant involvement in
activities which support and drive equality and diversity. You will be able to
develop a comprehensive understanding of the Athena Swan Charter and be
confident networking with EDI colleagues within the Division and wider
University to identify and share best practices for both departments. You will
also be confident initiating and implementing various projects, collaborating
with a range of stakeholders to support and encourage an inclusive culture.



You will need to be able to work independently, with proficient IT skills
(particularly Excel and Word) for quantitative and qualitative data gathering,
manipulation and analysis, and have excellent organisational skills. The
ability to make credible, evidence-based recommendations and influence
stakeholders is also essential.
