The **University Parks** team is responsible for the care of the University
Parks and all University-owned green spaces surrounding departmental
buildings. Working collaboratively, the team plays an essential role in
maintaining the beauty and functionality of Oxford’s green estate, providing
spaces that inspire staff, students, and visitors alike.

**About the Role**
As our **Training and Development Supervisor** , you will play a pivotal role
in shaping the next generation of horticultural professionals. You will manage
and mentor apprentices, provide tailored training for University Parks staff,
and ensure the safe and effective operation of our on-site nursery.
You’ll work closely with the Operations Manager to design and deliver
comprehensive training plans, support apprentices’ theoretical and practical
learning, and embed a strong culture of health and safety across the
department.
This is an exciting opportunity to combine your passion for horticulture with
leadership and teaching, helping to maintain Oxford’s renowned green spaces
while growing the skills of our talented team.
**About You**
You will be a knowledgeable horticultural professional who is passionate about
training and development. You will have:
* A recognised craft qualification or degree in horticulture (or equivalent experience).
* Basic IT skills such as Outlook, Word, Excel • Significant professional experience in horticulture, with proven supervisory skills.
* Strong organisational and mentoring skills, with the ability to motivate and develop others. • A thorough understanding of health and safety practices relevant to horticulture.
* Full UK driving licence
