<div>We are recruiting for three part-time Evening & Weekend Library Assistants to join our library teams at the Bodleian Art, Archaeology & Ancient World Library, and the Taylor Institution Library. The Art Library’s collections focus on the study of archaeology and the ancient world, art and architectural history, while the Taylor holds materials for the study of Modern European languages and literatures. Together with the Nizami Ganjavi Library, they make up Section 3 of the Bodleian Libraries’ Humanities Libraries, working together as a group to provide services to University of Oxford members and visiting readers.</div><br>

<div>As an Evening & Weekend Library Assistant, you will be part of our Reader Services team. Much of your work will be focused on staffing library help points: answering enquiries and supporting readers in accessing the libraries’ resources, spaces and services. You will also fetch and re-shelve books, scan extracts of texts for our Scan & Deliver service, and assist with collections project work. At all times, you will contribute to our mission to deliver excellent service and a great user experience.</div><br>

<div>These are permanent, part-time posts, working one of three patterns:</div><br>

<div>•    Post 1 (Taylor): 12.13 hours per week averaged over a 2-week pattern, approx. 0.3323 FTE –Mondays, Fridays & alternate Thursdays, 16:00-19:15; alternate Saturdays, 09:45-18:15</div><br>
<div>•    Post 2 (Art Library): 12.75 hours per week, approx. 0.3493 FTE – Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays, 17:00-21:15</div><br>
<div>•    Post 3 (Art Library): 12.25 h/w, approx. 0.3356 FTE – Tuesdays, 17:00-21:15; Sundays, 10:45-19:15 </div><br>

<div>You may be asked to provide cover at a library other than your regular working location from time to time, usually within the section but in exceptional circumstances, in other Bodleian Humanities Libraries.</div><br>

<div>These roles involve regular manual handling, including lifting and carrying books and crates, pushing trolleys and using ladders and kick stools. Climbing ladders exceeding 2 meters in height is exclusive to the Taylor Institution Library.</div><br>

<div><strong>About You</strong></div><br>
<div>You will have a strong customer focus, and the ability to communicate clearly, confidently and courteously with readers and staff.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>You will be reliable and punctual, an effective team player, and able to undertake routine tasks with care and accuracy.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>A good level of IT literacy including the use of Microsoft Office applications is also essential.</div><br>
