Following assessment, the practitioner will select a therapeutic approach relevant to the needs of individual students or refer to specialist services where available. The practitioner will be responsible for their own professional development and also for delivering relevant training programmes for college and departmental staff on a variety of student mental health issues and appropriate practical ways to support students. The practitioner will also be able to research, develop, and lead therapeutic groups, as well as evaluate and adapt the content and format according. They will contribute to the operational development of the service and support the wider work of the Counselling Service within colleges, departments and external services.
